Tesla Cuts Model Y Prices Temporarily

Tesla has cut the price of some Model Y SUVs by $1,000 until the end of February.

The all-electric automaker dropped the price of the base Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) to $44,380 (including the $1,390 destination fee). The mid-level Model Y Long Range now starts at $49,380 delivered.

The top-of-the-line Model Y Performance does not see its price change, remaining at $53,880 with the destination fees. Tesla’s website notes the price cuts apply only until Feb. 29. “Prices will increase by $1,000 or more on March 1.”

Tesla prices frequently fluctuate as the automaker changes its pricing regularly. But persistent rumors say a refreshed Model Y, code named Jupiter, is coming soon.

Tesla began cutting prices on its Model 3 sedan last year before introducing a refreshed edition.
