All-New Acura ADX SUV to Arrive in 2025

Acura will finally fill a subcompact-SUV-sized hole it has long had in its lineup with a new model called the ADX.

The Acura ADX will serve as the brand’s entry-level SUV, slotting beneath the RDX, Acura announced today. Acura says the all-new subcompact luxury SUV will arrive in early 2025, aimed at attracting young premium buyers.

As the Integra is Acura’s gateway into its sedan lineup, the RDX will serve the same function for its SUV lineup, according to Acura, Honda’s luxury division. Other than revealing that the new SUV will be turbocharged – possibly using the 200-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine found in the Integra — Acura is keeping further details about the ADX close to its vest.

“The 2025 Acura ADX will add a fourth SUV to our lineup and a new gateway model ready to build on the incredible success of Integra, helping make Acura a destination brand for a new generation of buyers,” said Emile Korkor, assistant vice president, Acura National Sales. “With the first-ever ADX and all-electric ZDX, the Acura lineup will have SUVs covered from A to Z.”

An Important Entry-Level Segment

We’ll say it’s due time. While the RDX is an excellent all-around compact luxury SUV that rivals the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and a slew of others, Acura has never offered a model in the subcompact segment. With the ADX, Acura will now have a rival to the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and, yes, a slew of others in the subcompact luxury SUV space.

We’ll be eager to see if the ADX shares the sort of dimensions and polite design of the subcompact SUV that Honda does have in its stable – the HR-V – or if it’s something different. From Acura’s associating the ADX with the Integra in its press release, we’re hoping for something sporty — and we’re already dreaming about an Acura ADX Type S.
