Acura gave its MDX midsize SUV an update for the 2025 model year, including a subtle visual facelift and a welcome tech refresh. Changes for most trim levels were modest, but the high-performance, high-luxe Type S received a new 31-speaker audio system that may make audiophiles take note of the Acura brand again.

Changes for 2025 include a mild facelift with less chrome, new noise insulation, and an infotainment system that drops the trackpad input in favor of simple touchscreens. Acura also ended its partnership with audio provider ELS Studio, moving to Bang & Olufsen for its speaker systems.

We’ve known about the changes for a while, but Honda’s luxury division kept pricing quiet until now. Most MDX models will see a mild price increase for 2025. The price of the entry-level MDX jumps $750.

The Type S, going more upscale than ever, sees a significant increase, rising $6,500. That change isn’t as severe as it sounds. Acura says most Type S buyers were opting for the Advance package, which added luxuries like 16-way power-adjustable massaging front seats and a head-up display. So the automaker just made its features standard equipment on every Type S, folding the extra cost into the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP).
